Career Highlights

I started my career in the Los Angeles office of Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue, a prominent full service law firm with offices worldwide, where I joined the Litigation Group and represented companies in business, employment, insurance and other civil litigation matters.

In early 1995, I joined the Orange County office of Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison, where I continued to represent clients in a variety of business litigation contexts including fraud, contract, unfair competition, trade secrets, construction defect, and employment.

I moved to Ventura County in 1998 in order to practice with a prominent trademark and copyright litigator.  I worked on high stakes infringement, trade secrets, and unfair competition lawsuits in courts around the country.

I opened G. T. May Law Offices in June 2005 in order to concentrate on civil and criminal appeals, writs, post-trial practice, and select civil litigation.

Military Service

On graduation from the Naval Academy, I was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps, served as an infantry officer, and attained the rank of Captain.  I returned to civilian life in 1987 after stateside duty in California and Virginia and overseas duty in Korea, the Philippines, Japan and Iceland.
